Type: | Software - System Management | Version: | 5.5.0.0(14 Jan 2008) | Operating System(s): | Microsoft Windows Server 2003 64-Bit Edition | File name: | cp008190.exe (21 MB) |
Insight management agents are SNMP agents that obtain information on the status of various server subsystems and display this information at the System Management Home Page (SMH). This component provides management agents for Windows Server 2003 on HP Integrity servers. - Included Cause/Action descriptions for the events reported in Windows Event Log.
- Added support for detecting non-HP DIMMs installed in the system.
- Implemented a 24 hour quiet-time for reporting IPMI communication failures.
- Improved performance when cleaning up old files in HP MCA Monitor.
- Cluster nodes are shown sorted by name.
- Improved Server Agents performance in high-end platforms.
- IPMI events type 02 are now being considered in the local events overall status.
- Improved monitoring of minimum required page file size by returning to 'OK' condition only after three poll cycles, therefore avoiding too many alerts.
- Improved to show all IP addresses available for the same adapter in System report page and sysreport.exe tool.
- Added status icon in Autorecovery page.
- Multiple Base Memory Address is shown for physical adapters in Network page.
- PCI IDs are now shown sorted by slot index in IO Chassis page.
- Removed number of available Cell slots from Complex page.
- Out-of-the-box singleton power supply servers will now report the correct redundancy status of power supply.
- PCI bridges of cellular systems are no longer shown in the IO Chassis page.
- Blade width is now shown in System Summary page.
To ensure the integrity of your download, HPE recommends verifying your results with this SHA-256 Checksum value: 0e3b4f9a24e2b1cff076fe4fb4cc0517a6f65c15a68bc3671ef652b0a5565a54 | cp008190.exe |
Reboot Requirement: Reboot is not required after installation for updates to take effect and hardware stability to be maintained. Installation:
- On HP Integrity server models rx8620, rx7620, and Superdome sx1000 (16-way, 32-way, and 64-way) systems, if a cell board has Cell Local Memory enabled, the Cell Board Information page for this cell shows empty DIMM serial numbers.
In this case, view the DIMM serial numbers from the MP command menu: 1. Telnet to MP IP address. 2. Type 'CM' to enter the command menu. 3. Type 'DF' to display FRU information. 4. Type 'S' to select a specific FRU. 5. Type 'D' to select a DIMM. 6. Enter the cabinet number, cell slot number and DIMM slot number as being prompted.
- If the system boots with a network card that does not have a LAN cable connected to it, the NIC agent service logs a warning to the System Event Log. This happens because the service cannot detect a network connection, and it cannot differentiate between a disconnected cable and a bad cable. In addition, when the warning is logged, the systems front panel attention LED starts blinking. Unused network connections can be disabled from the OS.
- In non cellular systems, at system power up you may see a Warning message (with a source of b57nd or e1000) indicating a disconnect. This is NOT an error, but a side effect of the auto-negotiation process used by the cards. The cards do connect at the end of that process.
- With the A7073A card, Event ID 4 is specified
- With the A9899A card, Event ID 27 is specified.
- Microsoft Cluster Service does not replicate large events in Windows Event Log. Some events are only available in the System Event Log from the node that generated the event.
- Some pages of System Management Homepage that use java applets like the threshold settings may not load correctly when browsing locally on the managed server. This happens when Internet Explorer is configured manually with a proxy server. To work around the problem perform the following steps:
1) Launch System Management Homepage from the desktop icon. 2) On Internet Explorer, click on Tools->Internet Options->Connections->LAN Settings. 3) Make sure that the check box for 'Use a proxy server for your LAN' is clear.
- On HP Integrity server models rx8640 and rx7640 with Management Processor firmware older than version B.001.005.003, fan status in environment of System Management Homepage might not show up properly. To solve the problem, upgrade the firmware to B.001.005.003 or later.
- The following message might be logged in Windows Event Log when the NIC agent tries to get Virus Throttle information:
'An attempt to query WMI for Virus Throttle event failed.'

Upgrade Requirement: Recommended - HPE recommends users update to this version at their earliest convenience. Upgrade Requirement: Recommended - HPE recommends users update to this version at their earliest convenience. - Fixed the intermittent HP Management Service crash when it tries to stop in some platforms that PFM does not handle that request on time.

Version:6.2.1.0 (26 Oct 2009) Upgrade Requirement: Recommended - HPE recommends users update to this version at their earliest convenience. Potential Foundation Agents crash due to some insecure string copy operations. New Features - A new service (hpRegMon) was introduced to monitor the SYSTEM registry hive size. Alerts will be generated for some action to be taken, in order to prevent the registry size from growing past 32MB. By default, the monitoring is done once every night at midnight. A quiet period time is implemented to limit
the number of alerts generated: at most 1 warning and 1 critical event will be sent every 24 hours. The file hpmgtsvc.ini contains parameters which can be modified to change the monitoring start time, the monitoring interval or the quiet period. Once the .ini file is modified, restart HP Management service to have the change immediately become effective. Without restarting the HP Management service, the change will not take effect until the next polling time, which is 24 hours by default. - A fix was done for a potential Foundation Agents crash due to some insecure string copy operations.
Version:6.2.0.0 (1 Apr 2009) Upgrade Requirement: Optional - Users should update to this version if their system is affected by one of the documented fixes or if there is a desire to utilize any of the enhanced functionality provided by this version. New Features - In System Management Homepage (SMH), the term 'virtual UUID' is changed to 'UUID (Logical)' and 'Virtual Serial Number' is changed to 'Serial Number (Logical)'.
- Improved error messages in Windows Event Log.
- SMH now shows the Product Number of the server.
- Added a new trap for insufficient crash dump file size.
Version:6.1.0.0 (15 Oct 2008) Upgrade Requirement: Recommended - HPE recommends users update to this version at their earliest convenience. - Preserves the previous state of Management Services components upon upgrading to a newer agent version.
- Server blade host name and OS name is now reported correctly in Onboard Administrator management web page.
- Fixed issue upgrade behavior from previous versions.
- Fixed issue to generate Foundation Agents TRAP after cleaning Windows Event Log.
- Overall status was not coming back to OK in cpqwinos.mib after reaching a normal state again.
- hpnsaEventLogStatistics is now returning correctly the statistics even after starting the HP Management service with no events reported on the System Event Log.
- Fixed issue to return the correct number of degraded events after recovering soft log.
- Fixed Foundation Agents to avoid cleaning cpqHoHwInfoPatform when Crash Dump Monitoring is disabled
- Added support for virtual IDs (virtual serial number and UUID).
- Reports more information about power management and processor power states.
- Provides unique Agent Event IDs to eliminate inconsistencies and enable customers to better filter on Event IDs.
- Allows clearing ASR degraded status in System Management Home Page (SMH).
- Reports PCI segment number in SMH.
- Reports System IP addresses in both IPv4 and IPv6 formats.
- Improved CPU and DIMM inventory pages for more clarity.
- Supports concurrent operations of Insight SNMP Agents and Integrity WBEM providers.
- All E0 events except Windows IML are now able to be repaired.
- All 02 events are able to be repaired.
- Moved any Registry access error message reported by Foundation Agents to Foundation Agents log file.
