The not-yet-announced Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 just stopped by the FCC and someone forgot to not reveal the device in full just yet. One particular label and location page shows the front of the device, some UI elements, and the back with additional specs.

You can see the device, labeled as a “smart wearable,” both above and below under FCC ID A3LSMR830. The page that revealed the new Samsung watch is trying to show you how to get to the FCC certification page, which is buried with software.

The watch is round, as expected, with Samsung’s One UI on top of its wearable Tizen OS. That minimal bezel on the outside of the watch’s face is rumored to be a touch bezel, which is cool since the previous Galaxy Watch Active ditched Samsung’s rotating bezel from other watches.

On the back of the new Galaxy Watch Active 2, which will carry model number SM-R830, we can see that it’ll sport a 40mm aluminum case (image below shows a stainless steel case option too), 4GB storage, GPS, 5ATM water resistance, Gorilla Glass DX+ glass, and a military toughness rating of MIL-STD-810.

There could be an additional 44mm model with LTE, but that has yet to show up at the FCC from what we can tell.

The Galaxy Watch 2 should debut alongside the Galaxy Note 10 on August 7.

After getting a look at the Galaxy Watch Active 2 via the FCC, Samsung has gone and made the smartwatch official. The watch comes in two models, 40mm and 44mm, but it also comes in two connectivity options: Bluetooth and LTE.

In terms of how this watch differs from other Samsung smartwatches, one main hardware difference is the rotating bezel. Now directly on the curved Super AMOLED screen, the rotating touch bezel turns both clockwise and counter-clockwise to advance screens so you can easily select apps. On the software side, the upgraded One UI offers what Samsung describes as a, “simple, clear and natural user experience for navigation.”

On the back, Samsung has a suite of upgraded health sensors — including an Electrocardiogram (ECG) — for automatically and manually tracking up 39 different workouts. Automatically, the watch can track running, walking, cycling, swimming, rowing machine, elliptical machine and dynamic workouts.
