The Smart Scoop allows you to make up to 1.5 quarts of ice cream per batch, a fairly generous, family-sized portion, which is the same quantity that you’ll get with the more expensive model Lello 4080 Musso Lussino. If you have small children who want ice cream on a regular basis, you can also make several batches in one day and freeze your churned mixture for later use.

The Breville BCI600XL only requires thirty minutes of churning time before your mixture is ready. While the appliance doesn’t necessarily needs to be chilled before use, quite a few customers found that they got better results when they allowed the canister to rest for a few hours- or overnight- in the freezer. However, this can add some extra hours to the preparation time as a whole.

Unlike lower quality appliances, the Smart Scoop comes with no less than 12 hardness settings. From soft serve to firmer ice cream and everything else in between, the machine is guaranteed to deliver a much better consistency than regular store-bought ice cream. Along with regular ice cream, you can also use it to make other frozen treats like gelato, frozen yogurt and custard, frozen smoothies, sherbet, sorbet and the likes. By this token, this machine allows you to always have dessert on hand for whenever unexpected guests show up at your door.

While the parts are not dishwasher safe, they’re certainly entirely detachable and easy to clean under running water. The canister is enhanced by a self-refrigerating compressor to ensure that your ice cream always maintains a creamy and highly decadent texture. Fully automatic, the appliance also comes with a keep cool setting that can last up to 3 hours, hence preventing your ice cream from melting even after churning. More importantly, users will also be able to make the most out of the pre-cool setting that once again boosts the overall texture of your mixture.
